About

About The CRO Report

The executive sales job market is opaque, as are the tools. Salary data hides behind "competitive compensation." Company intel is scattered across press releases, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and investor updates. Nobody analyzes it, and nobody tells you what actually matters.

Market Intelligence for Revenue Leaders

I got tired of watching talented revenue leaders make career decisions with incomplete information. So I built the platform I wish existed.

What's on This Site

Job Board

VP Sales, SVP, and CRO roles updated weekly.

Salary Benchmarks

Compensation data by location, seniority, and company stage. Based on actual disclosed ranges from job postings, not self-reported surveys.

Market Intelligence

What skills, tools, and methodologies companies actually want. Plus red flags we're seeing across the market.

GTM Tool Reviews

Honest comparisons of sales and revenue tools. Every claim sourced, and every red flag called out.

AI Assessment

A free AI Readiness Scorecard to benchmark where your RevOps team stands on AI adoption and get personalized recommendations.

Tool Reviews

Every GTM tool comparison follows the same process:

  1. Primary research: We use the tools ourselves where possible
  2. User feedback: G2, Capterra, Reddit, and direct outreach to current users
  3. Pricing verification: Published pricing, user-reported costs, and negotiation platforms like Vendr
  4. News and investigations: TechCrunch, Forbes, SEC filings for public companies
  5. Red flag identification: Contract terms, churn signals, support quality

We may receive affiliate compensation from tools we review. Our analysis is independent. If a tool isn't worth your budget, we'll tell you. Every source is linked.

Our Approach

What we believe:

  • Data beats opinions
  • Honest analysis includes red flags
  • Revenue leaders deserve investor-grade intelligence
  • Compensation transparency benefits everyone

What we don't do:

  • Soft-pedal concerns because a company is "prestigious"
  • Recycle press releases as analysis
  • Pretend we know things we don't

If we see restructurings, poor user reviews, below-market comp, leadership turnover, or Glassdoor warnings - we tell you.

The Data

Proprietary database

900+ executive sales roles tracked weekly, with 5+ years of historical data.

Actual job postings

Salary ranges and requirements from real postings.

Company research

Crunchbase, PitchBook, Glassdoor, SEC filings, press releases, LinkedIn.

Enrichment layer

Every role classified by seniority, metro area, company stage, and compensation transparency.

Every number comes from verifiable sources. If we don't have the data, we tell you.
