Our Mission
The CRO Report provides data-driven intelligence for sales executives. We analyze job postings, compensation data, and sales technology to help sales leaders make better career and business decisions.
Data Methodology
Our compensation and market data comes from public job postings. Here's how we process it:
- Collection: We systematically collect sales executive job postings (VP Sales, SVP Sales, CRO, Head of Sales, and related titles) from major job boards and company career pages
- Enrichment: Each posting is enriched with company data (stage, industry, size) and normalized for consistent analysis
- Analysis: We calculate salary ranges, identify skill trends, and track market movements using statistical analysis
- Publication: Data is published in salary pages, blog posts, and our weekly newsletter with transparent methodology notes
Sample size: Our current database includes 12,000+ executive sales job postings. Individual analyses may use subsets based on relevant filters (role, location, company stage).
Limitations: Our data reflects disclosed salary ranges from job postings. Actual compensation often differs due to negotiation, equity components, and benefits not disclosed in postings. We are transparent about these limitations in our analysis.
Update Frequency
- Job data: Updated weekly with new postings
- Salary pages: Regenerated with each data update
- Tool reviews: Reviewed and updated at least annually, or when significant pricing/feature changes occur
- Blog posts: Published as research is completed; existing posts updated when data changes materially
Tool Reviews
Our tool reviews are based on:
- Publicly available information (pricing pages, feature lists, documentation)
- User reviews from G2, TrustRadius, and other review platforms
- Direct experience where available

We aim to provide honest, balanced assessments. Every review includes both strengths and weaknesses.
